The Truth Lies

#THIS STUPID QUOTE. #matthew KNOWS she can brave the storm. #the entire mess with the entail alone i think proves that to him and us. #back in s1 he knew that him getting everything was pretty well a slap in the face to her #and he sympathized with her and saw her continue to stand up under the weight #to not let it bring her down as angry as she was with the circumstances and her life. #(which she tells him in 1.04). #not to mention the realization he must have had when he realized JUST what she was doing marrying carlisle. #she’s going to try and save her family’s reputation and for that she’s intending to brave a life-long storm. #in addition i don’t think he’s as oblivious as some make him out to be. i think he’s in MAJOR denial #and he’s STUBBORN. so stubborn. #i’m not saying he realized everything at the time it happened. #but i think he’s a lot more cognizant now looking back than we realize. #even when he was lying in that bed in 2.05 he KNEW mary was the one to tell him the awful truth of his situation #and never did she break in front of him. never did she pity him she just told him to ‘blub all he liked’ #because she understood. #he KNOWS she was the one at the train station that saw him off and showed that faith in him who gave him the lucky charm #and stood up under the weight of him saying flat out — HEY I MIGHT DIE (AND IF YOU LOOK AT MY FACE I’M REALLY TERRIFIED ABOUT THAT) #AND I WANT YOU TO BE THE ONE TO TAKE CARE OF MY MOTHER #and she never broke (much as she wanted to) she just kept her composure and encouraged him wholeheartedly. #i think he knows this. #THAT’S why he knows she can brave the storm. #he’s seen it time and again. #even if he didn’t realize it was love when it happened #that doesn’t change the fact that he knows her strength and her fortitude inside out. #tbh i think that’s one of the things that drew him to her in the first place.

But how do you really feel Ash?? :D

All of these. Such very good points. I don’t think Matthew could ever be as honest with Lavinia and his Mother as he was with Mary. He told her he thought he could die, and let her see his fears. He told her he couldn’t possibly speak about the war. He opened up in his way. On the other hand, when he asked, she was the one to tell him the truth about his condition. And he knows how she’s never pitied him, how she’s never broken down. I want to mention again just how Lavinia was never in her league, in all this, she could never take Mary’s place and she knew it. Which is sad. But I think Matthew thought Lavinia had to be protected, so he couldn’t be himself with her, while Mary…it’s not how they were with each other.

She’s been strong for herself, for him, for her family all this time. And he was the one to put some of that weight on her shoulders but now, now he’s asking her to let go of all of this baggage, because from now on, they’ll carry it together.

I see quite some ships with chemistry. It is not very hard to have it these days, because usually writers explore physical intimacy a lot. TV/Movies are full of extreme sexual scenes. However, it’s rare a chemistry that is powerful and it doesn’t need physical closeness. Yes, it’s not very difficult to have chemistry when you stuck your tongue into someone’s throat (Although, some ships cannot even benefit from it), now try to have outstanding chemistry from across a room. Those two have it in spades and they don’t even have to try. They could bottle up chemistry and sell it to the lesser ships.

THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!

My mom carried me for nine months. She felt sick for those months with nausea, then she watched her feet swell & her skin stretch. She teared. She struggled to climb stairs, she got breathless quickly and she even suffered many sleepless nights. She then went through excruciating pain to bring me into this world. Then, she became my nurse, my chef, my maid, my chauffeur, my biggest fan, my teacher & my best friend. She’s struggled for me, cried over me, hoped the best for me and prayed for me. Most of us take our mom for granted. Reblog if you love your mom more than anything else in the world.
